Crescent is resourcing 50% of its electricity from solar energy, as it seeks to produce all its power from renewable.

In a journey towards conservation of natural resources, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology has added another 300 kWp (kilowatt peak) rooftop solar panels to its already existing 250 kWp.

Totaling up to 550 kWp of solar energy produced, Crescent is capable of substituting 50% of the electricity required for the campus. This green initiative is commissioned and inaugurated on October 31, 2018,

By Tan Sri Dato Sri Ir Dr. Sahol Hamid Bin Abu Bakar, Vice Chancellor,  Mr. A. Azad, Registrar, and Mr. V.N. A. Jalal, General Manager.

In the aim to tap the vast source of solar power that showers for the most part of the year, Crescent is pioneering to create a 100% clean energy campus by making “hay while the sun shines”. Exclusive minor units of solar panels are to be assembled in order to serve the knowledge quest of students and research scholars about solar energy.
