Niki  served impressively as he has done throughout the tournament. His well

Co-ordinated service motion was instrumental in delivering well placed and heavy serves and this has been his premier weapon during the week. His ground strokes were firm and volleys crisp. Dhakshineshwar on the other hand was simply not as solid.  Initially it did seem that Dhakshineshwar would hold his own on his service games and make it tough contest. But in the fourth game when Dhakshineshwar was serving 40-15 a mishit drop shot return from Niki and a double fault made it duece, hewas out of sorts. An unforced error gave Niki a break point . On the next point Dhakshineshwar moved forward but did not respond to a slow high loopy return only to find it dropping on the line just behind him.  It was game to Niki who went ahead 3-1 and then no mistake as he held serves to complete a 6-3 first set win.

Dhakshineswar asked for a medical break and the physio worked on his shoulder.  Dhakshineshwer lost his serve immediately and could not recoop after that.  Niki was right on top as he served and volleyed with confidence and played drop shots to swiftly take a 4-1 lead and then wrap up the set 6-1 to gain a well-deserved title.
